Monadnock

Monadnock was the kennel name of Lorna Barnes Taylor Demidoff. She was a breeder of Siberian Husky show dogs from the 1940s through the 1960s. She began her career as a racer but she is best known for her Champion Monadnock's Pando, a wildly successful show dog of the 1950s whose influence came to permeate the breed.

The Monadnock bloodline was based on Seppala strain stock to the extent of about 70 to 75 percent, the remainder of her dogs' ancestry stemming from Eva B. Seeley's Chinook Kennels. Mrs. Demidoff purchased the bitch Tosca of Alyeska and developed her bloodline from breedings of Seppala males to that bitch and her descendants.
